The Call

I have watched a movie called "the call" which is a new American movie featured in the Egyptian cinemas . There is one idea about the movie that really stopped me and made me think of the current situation we are facing now in Egypt; "The Role of the Police" in the society. I won't get to the details of the movie but the role of the police was really amazing, the determination , the out of the box thinking and the drive to protect the citizen was impressive.; "The police cared and did its best to protect the citizen."
As an Egyptian having suffered from the chaos in Egypt, the tear gas and the near complete absence of the Police in the Egyptian streets , the contrast was annoying ! The movie brought to me the images of the martyrs, the lost security in the country, the thefts and the absence of the rule of law which is just absolute bullshit.
I am wondering when the Egyptian police will get back seriously in action, when the Egyptian police would take back the charge of the streets and claim back it s authority, responsibility and accountability . Without police and without justice, there would be no rule of order and no economic progress in the society. I am surprised that the ruling party insists on passing incomplete laws to have a solid grip on the political scene rather than take a grip back on the Egyptian streets through an unpoliticized Police And the question remains : When would the rule of Law return to Egypt?
